Detailed comments In general, it described nicely the alternatives of MAC protocols and also clearly states at the beginning what are the requirements for a "good" MAC protocol. The two biggest thing that were missing were: - comparison of alternative MAC protocols (how these protocols differ from eachother) - own analysis of protocols (some comments on these protocols, whether they are feasible, suitable for generic MAC protocols, any design flaws, own favorite protol (and why), ...) Text was generally OK, but some parts were looking like lists, not like a normal text paragraphs. Editorial comments: - It is good to put on top of the first page - title of the paper - writer's name and affilation - maybe a short abstract (this is optional, it the paper is short) - Every figure and table should have lables, e.g., Figure 1: Example of hidden terminal problem and every figure/table shall be alre referred in text. - To clarify headings it would help, if they are numbered - Page numbers help in case when reader has dropped papers and lost the order of papers. - avoid paragraphs that have only one sentence. - every reference in the reference list shall be referenced somewhere in text - I would personnally prefer justified right text format Other: - two spelling errors/typos: - page 3, just before the figure there are four items in the list, but text says: "...can be classified into three basic types". Probably the last item should not be in the list? - page 4, Just before Collision Avoidance header, there is extra "s" in text (...winning node is S voice one" or it should be "a"
