The Cryptography Group

[Personnel] [Courses] [Software] [Projects] [Publications] [Cryptography Group until 2005]

The Cryptography Group is led by Prof. Kaisa Nyberg. The core competence area of the group is development and application of different cryptanalytic methods for symmetric cryptographic primitives. The main focus is on linear cryptanalysis of stream ciphers, where the group has achieved significant improvements to the linear distinguishing attacks on stream ciphers. The second major direction of work is provable security for cryptographic protocols and in particular, privacy preserving data-mining and manually authenticated ad hoc key agreement protocols. The third direction of work is efficient and secure software implementation of elliptic curve cryptography.
